On Thursday, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar arrived at the election Petition Court sitting in Abuja to listen to the proceedings in the case he filed to challenge the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

It could be recalled that the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and his party have challenged the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the presidential election.
Atiku who came second in the 2023 presidential election conducted on 25 of February,2023 has challenged the transparency of the election. He has filed a petition against Tinubu(the winner of the 2023 presidential election), seeking for the withdrawal of the Certificate of Return that was issued to Tinubu by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Following the pre-hearing session of the petition that was scheduled to continue before Justice Haruna Tsammani-led’s five-member panel, Atiku had since filed an application for live coverage of day-to-day proceedings on his petition.Arriving at the courtroom around 8:35am, he accompanied by his friends and well wishes, among whom included the governorship candidate of the PDP for the forthcoming governorship in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye.
