The Catholic Church today at the Mydas Event Centre in Owo, held a Funeral Mass for victims of the Owo Bandits attack, which sad event occured on 5th June 2022 at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa Street, Owo, Ondo State
This comes following the end of the 3 days mourning period declared by Governors of the Southwestern States from Monday 13th June to Wednesday 15th June 2022, in honour of the victims.
The remains of the victims will be laid to rest in the town after the corpses were handed over to their families at the end of the funeral mass.
Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and a former governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko, were among the dignitaries present at the mass.
While Bishop Jude Arogundade of Ondo Catholic Diocese and Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, were among the clergymen that graced the occasion.
