Gov. Mutfwang Lifts Curfew In Plateau State After Five Months

Plateau State Governor, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has lifted the curfew of five months on Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State in the wake of the violent attacks on communities by suspected gunmen.

In a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, said the decision to lift the order by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, was taken after careful consultation with the state security council giving a return of normalcy to the affected communities.


The decision is also, to pave the way for residents in the communities, to engage in agricultural and economic activities.

He encouraged community leaders across the divides of faith and ethnicity, to continue with strategic dialogue aimed at nurturing trust, fostering tolerance, and promoting better understanding among the people.

While urging the residents of Mangu Local Government Area to embrace peace, unity and remain their brother’s keepers, Governor Mutfwang said his administration would continue to be fair and just to all.

The governor equally expressed deep gratitude to security agencies in the state and beyond, for their sacrifices and tireless efforts towards addressing the issues, and urged them to continue monitoring and maintaining law, and order across the seventeen local government areas of the state.
