Why Is Zakaria Yet To Play For Chelsea?.

Despite being labeled the Octopus by his teammates Dennis Zakaria is yet to play a single minute for Chelsea this season since arriving from Juventus on loan. The Swiss international was out of favor at Juventus so made a switch to London in a bid to get more game time under Chelsea’s former coach  Thomas Tuchel but unfortunately, Tuchel’s dismissal hasn’t really favored the Swiss international as Chelsea’s current coach doesn’t seem to rate him that

much. However, fans have sought to know the real reason behind Zakaria’s absence from the squad  since his arrival. Reports claims that Chelsea are already looking for ways to terminate Zakaria’s loan move in January and it’s as a result of this that Zakaria is nowhere to be seen on Match day squads. UEFA rules dictate that players can only turn out for two clubs in the same season, and the 25 year old has already made two Serie A appearances for the Turin side this campaign before joining the blues. Therefore, should he make an appearance for Chelsea, he would not be able join another club on loan from January, something that may harm the chances of Juventus accepting the request to terminate the loan move, with the midfielder clearly surplus to requirements under Max Allegri. It is for this reason that the likes of young midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka was handed his debut against Wolves rather than Zakaria, and it is bad news for both the

midfielder and Switzerland who will have a man lacking match fitness joining their world cup squad in a months time.
