Alhaji Ahmed Sani Toro, a former Nigeria Football Association(NFA) as the Nigeria Football Federation-NFF was then called, has been abducted by gun men.

He was abducted along with a former Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles, Garba Yila.

This incidence happened on Saturday 18th June, along Akwanga-Nassarawa Road, between 7 and 8pm, while they were on their way from Abuja where they attended the wedding ceremony of the son of former NFF President, Aminu Maigari.

The Bauchi State Police Command confirming the abduction through their spokesman Ahmed Wakili said, they are monitoring and gathering intelligence on the situation.

Nasiru Toro, the son of Sani Toro said, the abductors are yet to make contact with the families.

Ahmed Sani Toro, is a former Commissioner of Sports in Bauchi State. He later became the Secretary General of the then NFA between 1993 to 1999, a period viewed as the golden era of Nigeria Football. As it is in that period Nigeria made her debut at the World Cup,after lifting the Africa Nations Cup months before.Nigeria won gold medal in Atlanta USA in 1996 and made a consecutive appearance at the World Cup in France 1998.
