Israel Mobolaji Adesanya a Nigerian-born New Zealand professional Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) might just have a little more at stake in his next fight, as Canadian rapper, singer and actor Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake places a huge bet on him.

Adesanya who is the reigning UFC welterweight champion is set to fight Jared Cannonier his number one challenger in the headline event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 276.

The Match is set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States of America (USA), in the early hours of Sunday, July 3rd, 2022.

However, in a Facetime call with the Welterweight champion, Drake announced that he placed a bet of 1 million dollars in favour of the champion of course. He said, “I already know what time it is. I put a light million up. I wasn’t playing. I had to put a light mil up on my bother. The return on investment is a lock.”

The 32-year-old seemed rather confident in his abilities as he showed no atom of fear or worry in regards to the bet placed on him.

Drake shared this information with his fans and followers in a post he made on Instagram which he captioned, “One of the most inspiring guys to me…the death note author himself and my partner with @stake @stylebender BIG FIGHT TMRW…got a million on it.”

On the other hands fans of the welterweight champion are concerned, some fear that he may have encountered the infamous “Drake curse,” saying he Drake has never won a bet in the MMA before now.

Responding to a post made by SportsCenter on Twitter, some of his fans expressed their worries.
