Labour Party Ebonyi Welcomes AA Reps Candidate, Women Leader, 100 Other Defectors

Mr. Chinedu Adum, the Action Alliance’s (AA) House candidate for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal seat, has defected to the Labour Party (LP) in Ebonyi State.

Ijere Ngozika, the party’s State Women’s Leader, and more than a hundred devoted followers also defected with Adum.

They told reporters that their former party, AA, has no future or plans for the people of Ebonyi State shortly after their defection, which took place at the Nkwagu-Ugbala ground Arena, which is situated along the Old Abakaliki-Enugu express road.

Ahead of the election in Ebonyi State, the decampees declared their readiness to merge the whole Action Alliance (AA) organisational structure into the Labour Party.

The Labour Party’s candidate for governor, Mr. Edward Nkwagu, responded by saying that the decampees had been welcomed and adopted as party members.

He urged them to act honourably and work diligently to ensure that the LP candidates won the general election in 2023.

Additionally, Nkwagu appointed Mr. George Ukpai, the former Ebonyi State auditor general, as the new Director-General (DG) of his Labour Party campaign organisation in the State.

In his words: “we received a group of people from Action Alliance into the Labour Party, LP, in Ebonyi State. The decampees are now members of Labour Party, LP. We also received a group of physically challenged persons who came and declared their support for the Obi-dient movement and Labour Party in the State.”
