
The Kwara State government, under the administration of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has declared Friday the 29th of July 2022 a work-free day for all civil servants in the state.
According to the governor, this is to enable civil servants who are yet to register to vote in the 2023 general elections a chance to do so.
The holiday became imperative as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to close the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise next Monday, the 31st of July.
The governor made this known to the general public on Thursday the 28th of July, through a press statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
The statement partly read; “His Excellency urges the people of Kwara State, especially the civil servants, to take full advantage of the holiday to perform their civic duty of registering to vote.”
