Alhaji MK Ahmed, a former administrative secretary of the defunct Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU), is reportedly dead.

One of the children of the deceased, Suleiman Ahmed, confirmed the sad development to newsmen stating that their father passed away at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) during the weekend  leaving behind thirty (30) children and grandchildren.

Alhaji Ahmed is survived by a wife, 30 children and many grandchildren, says the report.

MK Ahmed was a recipient of the National Honour of Member of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, MFR, in 2003 and founded the Nigerian Pilgrims Welfare Association in 1961 and became its secretary. He also authored the book “Chronicle of NEPU/PRP”.

The deceased worked in various government and private organisations such as the defunct Electricity Corporation of Nigeria, ECN; National Electric Power Authority, NEPA; Arab Brothers, among others.

He was a recipient of the national honour of Member of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, MFR, in 2003.
