In Kaduna, Police Bust Kidnap Attempt, Kill One, Repel Others

During an attempt to kidnap a citizen of the State, a bandit was killed and several others were repelled by officers of the Kaduna State Police Command.

This was said in a statement released on Sunday and signed by DSP Muhammad Jalige, the police public relations officer (PPRO).

According to him, the police made significant strides after receiving a distress call that armed bandits had broken into Umar Ibrahim’s home in the village of Amana Maimadachi on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at around 01:00 a.m.

The statement said, “Upon receipt of the distress report, the crack operatives alongside other local security stakeholders swiftly mobilized and moved to the location where they engaged the bandits and thwarted their attempt to kidnap law-abiding citizens.”

According to the statement, one of the armed bandits clad in military camouflage uniform was neutralized, while others escaped with serious gunshot injuries into the bush, Daily Post reports.

Recovered from the neutralized bandit, the statement explained, was a serviceable AK-47 rifle loaded with four (4) rounds of live ammunition.
