The family of former Edo State Governor Lucky Igbinidion got justice over the death of the matriarch of their family, Madam Oredola Igbenidion 85 who was gruesomely murdered in December 2021 by one Dominion Okoro in her residence at Adolor Street off Water Resources in Ugbor, GRA, Benin, when Justice Efe Ikponmwoba of the Edo State High Court sentenced Dominion Okoro to death by hanging.
The Justice delivered the judgement convicting Dominion Okoro on three-count charge of murder, administering sedatives and robbery with violence filed against her.
The female convict, who was working as maid to former Governor Lucky’s Mother before the offence had confessed to have drugged her victim then hitting her with a stool necessitating her death. She afterwards carted away with cash worth a hundred thousand(N100,000),two wrist watch and jewelries belonging to the victim.
Patience Okoro,sister of the convict was discharged and acquitted by Justice Ikponmwoba, having been charged as the second defendant on a count of accessory after the fact to murder. She was charged because Dominion Okoro her sister had called her after fleeing the scene of the incidence to Calabar, (where she was later arrested by the Police) in her attempt to escape and evade Justice
