Flooding: 1yr-old baby, Six Others Rescued In Lagos Building Collapse

Seven occupants including a one year old baby girl, have been rescued from a collapsed two storey building.

A two storey building at number 12 Cameroun Street, off Ewenla, Mushin area of Lagos State, following the heavy thunderstorm on Wednesday, July 3.

 

Ibrahim Farinloye, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South West, spokesman, confirmed the incident in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said that victims, who were injured when the building collapsed, had been rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to an eye eyewitness, the unfortunate incident happened around10 am, during the early morning downpour in the state.

Presently, emergency responders, including Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Police, and others are on ground to recue victims as well as maintain peace and order.
