DSS Release Doyin Okupe After Airport Arrest Incident

After being detained by the Department of State Services (DSS), Doyin Okupe, the former director general of the Peter Obi, Datti Presidential Campaign Council, has now been released.

ThavMedia had earlier reported that Okupe was allegedly detained on Thursday at the Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Okupe was travelling to London when he was detained, according to his lawyer Tolu Babaleye, who corroborated the incident.

Okupe said the EFCC apologised for the mistake when he was released.

His words: “I was arrested & detained @ the MM int airport, Lagos this morning 12th Jan on my way to the UK for medical, after years of my passport being withheld by the FHC Abuja.”

”I have just left the EFCC office where senior officers in Lagos or Abuja apologised to me for the error. Occupational hazard, abi?” He concluded.
