Following the recent declaration of the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted.
Recall that Governor Nyesom Wike had earlier pledged to support the Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi, with logistics during his campaign.
Dino Melaye, the spokesperson for the PDP Presidential Campaign Management Committee, questioned the sincerity of Wike’s call for “justice” from the party’s leadership.
Melaye emphasised that, in contrast to PDP, the majority of positions in LP are held by people from the South.
Wike stated that since Obi was a former governor, he would give LP all the logistical help required for the state’s presidential campaign.
This information was revealed in Port Harcourt at the launching of a flyover in the state by the G-5 governors’ leader.
Reacting, Melaye, in a Facebook post, wrote: “Peter Obi’s visit in PH, Wike of Rivers state, stated that he would give Peter Obi support during the presidential election.
“In Labour Party, their National party chairman is from the South. The presidential candidate is from the South. Their DG is from the South. And the majority of their national positions are being held by southerners.”
“So where is the justice Governor Wike is talking about? Time to reunite with your family my brother.”
“Atiku Abubakar is the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the grace of God.”
