Thavemedia has learnt of the resignation of Justice Tanko Muhammad The Chief Justice of Nigeria. Justice Tanko resigned on Sunday night, on the ground of of ill-health.
Mr Ahuraka Isah, the Special Assistant on Media to Justice Tanko Muhammad confirmed the resignation of his principal some hours ago.
Prior to the News of the CJN’s resignation rumours has it that he has been battling with an undisclosed illness.
Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court is expected to be inaugurated as the acting CJN by the Presidency at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the Nation’s Capital at 2pm, according to a source who pleaded to be anonymity.
