Chelsea winger Callum Hudson Odoi has completed a temporary move away from the club on a season long loan to German side Bayer Leverkusen. This is the first time the young English winger will be loaned out by the club after being at the club for more than a decade and failing to nail down a spot in the starting line up since breaking into the first team. Hudson Odoi recently spoke about his move to the German club, he said “I am very happy to be here, I hope we can win a trophy and go far in the champions league”. Other clubs in England and Europe showed interest in the winger but his preference had always been Leverkusen.

The deal is a straight loan deal with no option to buy included in the contract, the deal was almost called off because of this but Odois older brother was able to convince the Leverkusen representatives to accept the deal on Chelseas terms. Hudson Odoi who has not started a single match for Chelsea this season and have fallen out of favor with Thomas Tuchel will be looking to revive his career at the German club this season in other to increase his chances of making it to the world cup in Qatar which starts on November this year.
