Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has been awarded ‘Best African Act’ at the 2022 MTV European Music Awards (EMA(
The award show which took place on Sunday, 13th November 2022, had other Nigerian acts besides Burna Boy nominated, acts like Ayra Starr and Tems, others nominated in that category were, Musa Keys, Zuchu, and Black Sheriff.
He was announced the winner but he wasn’t physically present to receive his award.
The Grammy award-winning artiste won the World Album Category at the 2021 Grammy Awards for his album ‘Twice As Tall’ and was recently given the award of Member of the Federal Republic, MFR, and the National award.
He has also been nominated for over 47 awards locally and internationally. He is an inspiration to many young Africans, Burna also just recently got an ambassadorial deal with Oraimo Smart Accessory.
