There are reports of flooding in some parts of Taraba State Nigeria, which have being said to be flooded. Flooding wiping farm lands and making residents to flee their homes. Some residents have being fear dead according to reports from Channels Television (Nigeria) on Wednesday 28th September 2022.
Earlier on Monday, NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency) had advised the government of Adamawa, Taraba, Benue and other frontline states to move communities at risk of flooding to safer grounds.
Mustapha Ahmed, Director General, NEMA, gave the advice at an emergency technical meeting on flood situation in Nigeria on Monday in Abuja Nigeria. He said that the warning became necessary as the lagdo dam operators in the Republic of Cameroon had begun to release excess water from its reservoir which in turn will get to Nigeria as seen in previous years, coupled with heavy rains and waters from the river Niger and Benue.
