Breaking: Gunmen Bomb Kogi Local Government Offices Days To Election

As the 2023 general election approaches, yet-to-be-identified gunmen have attacked and blown off the administrative offices of the Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident occurred on the late hours of  Monday February 20th, when the gunmen  invaded the area with some explosives.

It was gathered that the offices are close to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the local government area.

However, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, William Ovye Aya, when contacted confirmed the incident.

According to him, the command had commenced an investigation to unravel the cause of the attack.

Recall that Kogi State in January experienced a much fatal explosion.Where the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, had claimed responsibility for a car bomb explosion that killed about four people and injured several others in the Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
