Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade has on Wednesday 13th 2022 locked out senior and junior employees working in the Governor’s Office for lateness.

After a long absence, the Governor decided to return to Calabar on Monday. He came to work earlier and ordered the security to lock the main gate at about 8 am.

Most civil servants, particularly those working in the governor’s office have always used the absence of the Governor in turning up to work at odd hours, some turn resume by 11 am and hurry home by 3 pm. This happens often as there will be no one to rebuke them.

So many of them idle about gisting and sleeping, some especially the women go from one office to another selling wears, biscuits and more.

As of noon, the gate was still under lock and key while visitors and personnel milled around the surroundings.

No official had addressed both the personnel, visitors, and government contractors at the time of filing this report.

Since becoming Governor, It would be recalled that this is the third time Governor Ayade has locked out government employees over lateness.
