A devastating auto crash in Bauchi has claimed the lives of two people. In the accident, a vehicle in the convoy of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bauchi State, Nuhu Zaki, collided with a motorcycle, and one other person sustained bruises and a fracture in the fatal crash.
Five adult males were engaged in the accident, which happened on November 16, 2022, at around 2.25 p.m. in Miya Town along the Miya-Warji Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner hurriedly transported the victims to the Kafin Madaki General Hospital, where two people’s deaths were officially pronounced. The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp, Bauchi State Command, Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Thursday.
He said the government vehicle, a White Toyota Hilux with registration number: BA18 A08, collided with a commercial Bajaj Boxer motorcycle ridden by one Muhammad Muawuya. Abdullahi said that the fatal crash was caused by a speed violation which led to a loss of control.
He said, “There was a multiple fatal crash yesterday, November 16th, 2022 at about 2.45 pm, involving a government vehicle and a commercial motorcycle.”
“The government vehicle is a White Toyota Hilux with registration number: BA18 A08 which collided with a commercial Bajaj Boxer motorcycle ridden by one Muhammad Muawuya.”
“The multiple crashes were caused by speed violation which resulted in a loss of control and subsequently, a collision between the vehicle and the motorcycle at Miya town along Miya-Warji route, involving five male adults.”
“The victims who were in the entourage of the Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Nuhu Zaki, were rushed to the Kafin Madaki General Hospital (by the commissioner) for treatment and confirmation.”
“It was there in the hospital that a medical doctor confirmed two people dead. One other person sustained bruises and a fracture.”
