Atiku Promises To Tackle Insecurity If He Is Elected

Atiku Abubakar thePresidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),has promised to tackle insecurity in the country and through oil and gas exploration in the Lake Chad Basin, if he is elected as the president of Nigeria come next year 2023 election.

The presidential candidate Atiku made this pledge on the 10th of November, 2022 during the PDP Presidential campaign rally at Ramat Square, Maiduguri, Borno State. According to Atiku, the eight years of the All Progressive Congress [Apc] administration is marked by continuous rise in poverty and unemployment among youths and women in the country. Atiku added that the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi, tasked him with the resuscitation of the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA), to address food insecurity, poverty and unemployment in the insurgency affected North East region.

“Today’s presidential campaign pledges made to the monarch in Maiduguri include overcoming insecurity and to restore peace in Borno and the country at large,” he added. The El-Kanemi tasked the PDP to link the 27 local councils of the state to national grid, Atiku disclosed. PDP reportedly received over 5,000 defectors from APC led by Ali Wurge.
