Adeleke Rejects Tribunal Verdict,Vows To Appeal Sack

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, says he would appeal the judgment sacking him as governor of Osun state.

Adeleke described the judgement of the governorship election petitions tribunal as “a miscarriage of justice” as he vowed to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal.

Ealier on Friday Morning, the majority judgement of two judges against one ordered that Certificate of Return should be withdrawn from Adeleke and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola

The majority judgement which was read by the Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume said Oyetola scored the majority lawful votes of 314,931 against Adeleke’s 219,666.

Reacting on Twitter, Adeleke wrote: “I want to use this opportunity to call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let everyone be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate. God bless Osun!”
